Alright, so the Tony's just aired a few days ago and I was super stoked about the performances! I can't WAIT to see The Book of Mormon, How to Succeed, and Catch Me if You Can! Anyone have thoughts on the Tony's?
The Book of Mormon was super funny. I heard that it is not "family friendly" and that the scene shown at the Tony's was the only one that COULD be shown...interesting. I think the host choice was weird.
I've listened to the score and, yes, it is widely controversial. I wouldn't doubt the blocking and script material would be just as...well, inappropriate. But either way, it whipped the other musicals butts with all the tony's it was awarded.
I, myself, enjoyed the humor Neil Patrick Harris brought to the stage. He seemed so natural and was very charismatic. The opening number, though, seemed a bit much. I don't think he should've left the stage. Like do you're diddy and get to business!
